So Soph at 2 1/2 wks

So, here is our Sophie. I am not only publishing these photos to show off the hot momma Soph-but I wanted to showcase some items given to her by some very talented women. Lets start with the amazing hand crafted quilt behind Sophie in all these pictures (the back of the quilt is found in the next set of pictures). This was made by my very talented sister-in-law Emily Mason. Look closely at the stitching-isn't it good?! I bet your wishing she was your sister-in-law. Moving on to the next item is the hair bow made by my sister Sarah-she literally made it in moments (I know because I was on the phone with her when she was making it!) And finally it you keep scrolling down you'll see some pretty awesome booty's ( that barely fit Sophie) from my wonderful mother. The thing is, I don't think she made them, but I'm sure if she wanted to she could whip some up-right mom? Thanks again to all of you-and to all viewers, enjoy looking at what Sophie and I now own.

Home From Hospital

It was smiles all around when Sophie made it home.

She spent a lot of time in Grandma's arms

just relaxing

and dozing on and off.

Tucker was interested in seeing how much hair she has...

... maybe you were too. (FYI, its not quite as thick and dark as Madelyn's was at her age, but not as light in color as Olivia's and thicker than Liv's too.)

We also looked at old photos and she is indeed the perfect blend of Liv and Maddie.

Here's Sophie!

Well, Sophia Cathern made her entrance to the world last night at 3:30 AM. She is tall and healthy. Her height was almost 22" and she tipped the scales at a hearty 10.6 lbs! (Which was kind of scary because she really had to be pulled on hard. ) In the end, everything has worked out wonderfully and we feel so blessed.

Here she is right after being born.
Who does she look like? Dad thinks she is a (much) thicker Olivia.

Here is Mom and newbie...

...bonding.

The Chicks LOVED seeing her. They woke up extra early to go see her and were on their best behavior.

Sophie would have been into them, but she was just too tired.

Madelyn is so proud to finally be a big sister.

She was always right on top of the situation.

And if her attention ever drifted, Olivia was right there to watch over them both. She is going to be a great Big Sis.

And Sophie sleeps on...
(P.S. Dad now thinks she is a perfect mix of Olivia and Madelyn as babies.)

I've Been Tagged

I've been Tagged!!!
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B: Each player answers the questions about themselves. C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 years ago: I was 16-a sophomore in high school. I'm sure cruising down at movies 8 (all my friends from high school-don't pretend you weren't with me!)-maybe Emily was trying to call on some girls or something. Also I think my brother Andy was getting ready to come home from his mission. Our family dog, Belle was getting ready to pass away that coming spring.

5 things on my to-do list today: 1. Do laundry(please help there is so much!!!) 2. Go to a fabric store and try and find tight material to make a hair bow 3. Go to Costco, buy baby diapers 4. Look at my calendar, count exactly how many days I have left(like I don't already know-21) 5. Call my sister Sarah about 5 times

Snacks I enjoy: oh man, almost anything that doesn't give me heartburn! I (like Jessie) also want fruit all the time-especially melons-any kind

What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: First I think I'd buy a nicer house than my sister Martha-just kidding Martha. Actually I think I would do what it took so both of my parents could retire today-even if they don't really want to. I would pay off all my siblings mortgages and my in-laws mortgages-and any other debt they had. Then I'd give the rest of the money to Rosie O'Donnell to spearhead her campaign for presidency!

3 of my bad habits: 1. I stress about my children's heath too much. 2. Right now my hormones dominant me. 3. Eating too many Mint Oreo's

5 places I have lived: Crosby, MN -Orem UT -Logan,-UT, Ogden, UT -Moon Twp, PA -Pittsburgh, PA

5 jobs that I have had: RD's Drive-In (the good days), Training Table, Kids R Us, Blockbuster Video (even better days), North Ogden Tanning salon, America First Credit Union

5 Things people don't know about me: 1. I worked at a Haunted Cafe, where the owners actually held an exorcism(Pantheon Cafe) 2. When I worked at that Tanning Salon-I never once tanned there. 3. I like to grow out my pinky nail and call it my coke nail. 4. I actually have a very real fear of the water when it turns from the light blue, to the dark almost black blue as it gets deeper(in oceans and lakes)-I'm almost positive the fear originated when I was very young, from my brother Andy's lies about how they released fresh water sharks into Lake Michigan. 5. I get completely obsessive about things and hate to have any unfinished projects laying around-my husband on the other hand.....

I am tagging...
1. Ashley
2. Sarah
3. Martha
4. Sarah L. and Andy
5. Emily M.-this means you need to get your blog going!!!

Whats your TRUE Color

So I did the test too-like everybody else. Sometimes when you do these you don't want to end up a bad color-like red-but it seems all of these are intended to praise the person who takes the test. So I like it!-try it

Take this test!

You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

Grandpa

I find myself living from one family visitor to another (is that wrong). I try and appreciate everyday as best as I know how, but when I know someone is coming (especially family) it's hard for me not to look at the calendar everyday and count down till they arrive (I'm guessing maybe that could be considered obsessive). It's very exciting for all of us-especially the girls, so when my Dad called us back in December and said he would be coming, it immediately went up on the calendar and the counting started.
I took a picture every time the thought occurred to take one-just ask my Dad-so I had to weed it down, and hopefully I'm showing the one's to best illustrate our time with him.
Grandma sent out some presents through Grandpa and
one of the gifts were these snow hats my mom made.
See mom they do fit the girls, and Maddie loved hers so much
she wore it all morning long-even through 2nd breakfast!
The girls working on a puzzle Grandpa brought
They tried real hard to make pieces fit where they thought
they should go-still wearing the hats

Grandpa ended up working on the puzzle with the girls-
but I finished it long after everybody else lost interest. I know that
if my mom would have been here she would have finished it(she loves puzzles)
*Keep scrolling down there are more pictures from my Dad's trip out here*
(I just couldn't get them all to work out right on the same post-sorry)

More Pictures with Grandpa Tom

The girls with Grandpa right after they woke up-
they had just gotten the hats out of Grandpa Toms suitcase-
they really do like those hats Mom.
Trying to finish up the puzzle a second time-thanks mom for the puzzle
we get to do everyday now

Olivia kept Grandpa pretty busy with all of the games
she wanted to play with him. She taught him HER rules
to Hi Ho Cheerios (she learned the alternative rules from her dad)

Hanging out on the Soutside (we're right by Trent's work)

We all went out to MY favorite restaurant-
Nakama's-it's the best Japanese Hibachi Steakhouse. It seems
we take all our visitors there, we like it that much.

This one might be kind of hard to see since it was getting
dark-the girls are laying in the snow it front of our house making snow angels
Grandpa Tom is with Tucker over on our drive way-it was freezing-I should
have taken a picture of Trent's hand from this night. He
went out and shoveled the drive-way and froze the fingers on his left hand,
he came back inside only feeling numbness and then his fingers started swelling-
I had no idea how bad it was-I showed very little sympathy-sorry Trent
This has never happened to me, but I guess it is extremely painful
when the swelling goes down and feeling comes back-sorry again

My dad taking the girls down the hill on a walk-this is before it
turned so cold

Thanks again to my dad for making the effort to come see us. It's one on one time and I'm very grateful for it. It's always sad to see family go-especially my dad. But as I am sitting here writing this I feel this new life in me moving, and know my biggest calendar countdown in 3 years is only 1 month away, and the excitement, anticipation and of course some anxiety is impossible for me to express in words. It's close to being indescribable what another child brings to your family-a feeling of doing whats right-completeness, and over-all more happiness(maybe not so much in the first few weeks but it comes). I look forward to this as my countdown draws me closer and closer to seeing whats been growing inside me all these months.
